As many of you know, I have a history of public service. I served as mayor of Tampa for four years. Then I worked in the Senate, where I was proud to represent the great state of Florida.

I’m running for president because I believe in the same goal that I have always had as a citizen, a mayor, and a senator. That goal is to revive two fundamental principles of American government that we have been missing for a long time.

The first is restraint. And the second is compromise. In my work in Tampa and in the Senate, I combined both of these to grow the economy, create more efficient healthcare, and promote the freedoms that America was founded upon.

Together, we can roll up our sleeves and tackle the big problems that government has avoided for too long.
