HEALTH CARE

WITHOUT HEALTHY INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES, AMERICA IS STUCK. People cannot work. The economy will not grow. Children will suffer. I consider health care to be the most important aspect of policy. Unfortunately, we have seen a steady decline in the standard of living. Taxes have increased, medication has become more expensive, and the sick are getting sicker. This is simply unacceptable.

OBAMACARE

The so-called “Affordable Care Act” is anything but. It has led to a staggering increase in taxes and forced pharmaceutical companies to raise prices for the average citizen. It’s just not working. Thus, I support a complete repeal and replace of Obamacare. The proposed tax plan eliminates the Obamacare mandate, which requires a fee for people who choose not to buy Obamacare insurance. This mandate is an ugly attempt at healthcare conformity, and I am completely behind its repeal.

I support a system of healthcare that encourages Americans to choose what will benefit them and meet their needs. We need to emphasize the importance of patient-physician trust and informed consent. Patients and their families deserve to find insurance that can shift and expand with them, and support them in their time of need.

MEDICARE AND MEDICAID 

The best way to help a low-income, struggling family is not for the federal government to unnecessarily intervene. States play an incredibly important role in regulating insurance rates and providing healthcare to individuals and families that cannot pay for it themselves. I support block-grant Medicaid and Medicare scenarios where states can support their citizens without the red tape of Washington bureaucracy.

This healthcare conversation is incredibly important and must be seriously debated. I will not consider legislation that repeals the Affordable Care Act for a patchy, partisan alternative. The emphasis of my campaign is to restrain the overreaching government programs that only complicate the lives of Americans. We need to refocus government to create systems that will allow our nation not just to survive, but to thrive.
