ABOUT
I was born in May of 1966 in Houston, Texas. I grew up with two siblings, my twin sister Samantha and my older brother Brian. I graduated from Rice University in 1988 with a degree in political science. Afterwards, I moved to Chicago and attended the University of Chicago for four years, where I graduated with an MBA in economics.
I later moved to Tampa and worked in the city council. In 1995, I became the first female mayor of Tampa. After 10 years of service, I joined the US Senate, representing Florida.
My husband and I have two beautiful girls, Sydney and Julia.
